David Nasatir is an experienced statistician, expert in research design, and a senior researcher on the PIL study. He is a retired Visiting Professor in the U.C. Berkeley Sociology Department. Nasatir's work has been marked by the application of sociological research to the identification, description and evaluation of efforts to solve social problems. He has served as Director of the International Data Library of the University of California's Survey Research Center, consulted for UNESCO, the Ford Foundation, the Government of Chile and the United States Agency for International Development. He received his undergraduate degree from MIT, a Masters from Stanford, and a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley.
