Merinda Kaye Hensley is a PIL Senior Fellow in Information Literacy where she works on the new “PIL Provocation Series.” She is also Associate Professor and Digital Scholarship Liaison and Instruction Librarian at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she is part of the Scholarly Commons team, a digital scholarship center that partners with librarians and campus initiatives to support scholarly work across disciplines. She teaches “Instructional Strategies and Techniques for Information Professionals” and “Reference and Information Services” for the Illinois iSchool. Her research interests focus on the intersections of scholarly communication and information literacy, in particular the role and impact of the librarian in teaching undergraduate researchers about the publication process and sharing their work online. She earned her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Arizona and a M.S. in Library Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
